  This is my second year doing the projects for projects day. Through this year’s projects, I was able to make use of my past year experience to ensure that we do even better, as well as gain new insights into what working with a team was.

 

  I learnt many things from this project. The first value I learnt was the importance of group work. This basically included collaborating with others in a way where we can get a job done faster by working as a team. Working as a team is important for a few reasons. Firstly, since we were doing an artwork, we required group work to finish certain parts that we would otherwise be unable to do on our own. For example, when doing the body, I realised that I could not do it on my own, and I needed someone to hold the body for me while I glued it on. I needed to be able to work with my teammates and pass important instructions and information to him, and at times also receive instructions from him. Teamwork is also important as it allows us to finish a job even more quickly. Since we have multiple people, we can each work together on separate parts before joining them together, allowing us to complete a job even faster to meet the deadline. Overall, working together with your team is something very important and something I realised through this project.

 

  I also learnt that sometimes, we must listen to others opinion and follow it as it may be the best option at times. At the same time, we should also try to contribute actively to ensure the group can decide which idea is the best. However, if we constantly demand that our ideas be used, it may not be the best choice. As the saying goes, “two heads are better than one”. Often, we may not have the best solution to a problem, and we would have to rely on others to guide us and teach us how to do a certain task. This way, both the group and us as an individual can benefit from this learning experience.

 

  Overall, I am happy that we were given the opportunity to make it to the finals as I did not get to do so last year. This project has certainly helped me learn many skills which allow me to be better able to work with others in the future.
