Through this project, I have learnt the importance of not doing last minute work and preparing things in advance as we were actually very last minute in the creation in the creation if the dragon and only started the new design in the last week of the school holidays. We also did not really plan things in advance as we did not prepare plastic bottles to get ready for our project. We only realised that we did not have enough bottles when we started doing a bit of the project and at that time it was actually not easy to get the bottles anymore although we still succeeded in collecting them but it was alot  harder. We actually did not plan that well when creating the first "prototype" of the dragon as we did not really know what to expect. However, after the  creation of a few body segments, we realised that our idea would not actually be feasible as it was almost impossible to join the body segments together. This was a major setback as it meant that last few days of effort would all go to waste, we practically had to redo the entire dragon. But when we redid it with the different design, we actually planned the design in advance on paper and saw how the pieces would fit together. We knew what we were doing and we finally did it right.

I have also learnt the importance of teamwork as there was many parts of the dragon had to be done at the same time because of our very tight schedule to the semi-finals. We had to split the job based on our strengths and weaknesses as some of us were better at cutting and some of us were better at gluing the dragon together. We all split the responsibilities on what we did best so the job could be done efficiently. One of the hardest parts were putting the body segments together. At that point, we all had to stop what we were doing and go put the dragon parts together as that job had to be done together as we had to have someone supporting the structure, someone holding the individual pieces and someone gluing. This was one of the hardest parts of the project as it was delicate yet large scale task, which made it such that we had to do it very carefully as if the glue was not strong enough or not at the right place, the  entire structure would fall apart. We also had to be careful in transporting the structure as everyone had to lift at the same time and place it down at the same time, if it were unbalanced the dragon may just fall apart. This taught us the importance of teamwork as all of these tasks could not be completed on time if done alone. We had to work together so that we would be able to meet the deadline and make sure the dragon would not fall apart. If any one person decided that he did not  want to do it  anymore, the project would not have been possible as everyone had an important role to play.

As a leader  it was my job to make sure everyone did their part and it was not an easy job as some people felt that they were doing too much for the project. There were many disputes that had to be solved and many major decisions to be made. One example would be the redoing of the whole dragon with a different design. We had done a bit of the first part and it seemed like a waste to redo it, but if we did not redo it we would never complete the project as there  were not enough bottles. If we did  a new one there was a chance we would not complete it in time, and what if it were unsuccessful? The decision lay on my hands as i was the leader of the group. The risk had to be taken as our current idea was going nowhere. It was a hard choice, but the right one as we managed to complete the new one on time and it was even better than what we had of the first. I have learnt the importance of taking risks and the responsibility of being a leader, making the right choice for the group although it may be a hard one.I have strengthened by decision making skills in the process of this project. Although this was a hard project, it was  fun and interesting and our hard work paid off in the end.
